Cranbrook has a new barbershop in town called The Gentlemen's Mark.  The single-chair barber shop is owned and operated by well-known Cranbrook resident Mark Preston.

Mark recently completed his barber training at Edmonton's highly regarded Mr. Barber School and is a fully licensed barber bringing the latest techniques of the barber trade to his new shop.

This is a bit of career transition for him, as he has been involved in the transportation/courier business in the Cranbrook area for many years.

"I had been having serious back problems and the heavy lifting in the transport business wasn't helping," he said.  "I looked at the barbershop trade in Cranbrook and felt there was room for another barber.  So I decided to take the barber course and a year later I opened my own barbershop."

Mark says he has been pleasantly surprised by the steady stream of customers he has seen since he opened up his cozy, tastefully decorated shop about a month ago.  The Gentlemen's Mark offers a full line of barber shop and grooming services from the basic hair cut to a hot towel shave.

“I just want to give a big shout out to the people of Cranbrook,” says Mark. “I am blown away with the amount of support I've seen at my barber shop so far.”  There are already plans to have another barber chair operating in the near future.

The Gentlemen’s Mark is located at 404A Cranbrook St. North, across from the Denny’s Restaurant and next to the Petro Canada station.  Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are always appreciated. Open Tuesday to Friday, 10 to 5 and Saturday 12 to 6.  Call Mark today at 250 426 9555.
