Nelson City Council has given West Creek Developments the green light to proceed with the project called "The Crossing at Granite Point." The development will see condos between 850 - and 1,600-square feet spread between three buildings on a 1.3 acre property. The development will have a similar aesthetic to other West Creek's projects, including West Creek Village on Perrier Road and The View on West Richards.

"This particular builder has found a niche that he seems to be able to work in quite well," stated John Dooley, Mayor of Nelson John Dooley. "With the dwellings priced at less than $300,000, all their units are well positions to be sold and get people into the entry level market."

The Crossing, will be the first development on the golf course since Granite Pointe Golf Course finished its revitalization plan in 2009, which identified undeveloped golf course lands that could be developed as residential properties. The golf course would benefit from the development because residents living so close to the greens would more likely buy memberships.

At a recent meeting, Nelson city council approved a re-zoning application to allow medium density residential development thus clearing the way for three townhome condo buildings to be built on what was previously undeveloped golf course land.

The Crossing at Granite Pointe is Nelson's newest Development, offering three distinct floor plans that will appeal to a diversity of buyers. There will be thirty homes in total within three separate buildings, including covered parking and integrated storage for all units. Located between the #9 and #14 fairways, it is a location that will be truly incomparable. Quick access to the golf course and outstanding scenery are just a few of the benefits residents will enjoy.
