Target Corp. is launching a cross-country brand-building road trip.

As Target Corp. prepares its early spring entry into the Canadian market, the retailer is launching a cross-country brand-building road trip.

The Target Holiday Road Trip is slated to bring family-oriented entertainers to at least 20 communities across Canada, starting in Nova Scotia on November 30 and finishing in B.C. in approximately mid-December.

Target spokesperson Lisa Gibson told Businesses in Vancouver that the road trip will help the company build brand awareness across Canada.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to connect in with our future guests and get to know the communities and really give them a bit of a taste of what the Target brand is all about and what they can expect from us when we open our doors in 2013,” she said.

The company’s first show will be in Halifax this Friday. The event will feature stories being read by Gordon Pinsent, comedian and actor Shaun Majumder and children’s entertainer Razzmatazz for Kids. According to Target, the event will also feature holiday treats and crafts and provide guests with an opportunity to get photos taken with Bullseye the dog to create a photo flip book.

Gibson said the company is not yet releasing details about its road trip plans for B.C.

Target plans to open 124 stores across Canada starting in approximately March 2013.
