Stonefire Pizzeria to open doors in Kimberley’s Platzl

Kimberley's newest restaurant is getting set to open. Stonefire Pizzeria is a Neapolitan style pizzeria based in the heart of the Kimberley platzl. It is located, next to the former Gilded Goat building, adjacent to the bandstand in the middle of the platzl. The building was built on the former location of a local bike shop that was razed by fire last year.

Like all Neapolitan pizzerias the Stonefire Pizzeria is seeking to emulate the practices, flavours and culture of Naples and Neapolitan pizza. The new restaurant is currently recruiting staff and this is what their help wanted ads state, "That being said we are looking to give a creative Kootenay twist to the cuisine. We expect that all of our staff take the time to understand the tradition, practices, and history of Neapolitan pizza so that we as a restaurant can do justice to the cuisine. Duties will include making the pizza and all the ingredients required from start to finish fallowing the Authentic Neapolitan practices that you will learn. Working in a professional manner in an open concept kitchen. There will be heavy lifting involved."
