Corey and Dave Spring have joined forces with their uncle, Derek Spring—owner of Northstar GM in Cranbrook—to purchase the Honda automotive dealership in town from Kootenay Import Auto Group.

The new automotive dealership will be called Spring Honda. The dealership will be operated on a day-to-day basis by Corey and Dave Spring.

The Spring family has a long background in the Kootenay automotive industry. Derek’s father, Frank Spring Sr., started a GM franchise in the 1950s. Brother Danny Spring owned the GM dealership in Creston, now under the ownership of Derek Spring.

Corey and Dave have been involved in the import auto business for a number of years in the past, both having worked for the Import Auto Group at one time.

“It’s a pretty nice name (Spring Honda) to be pulling into the mix,” Derek Spring told the Kootenay News Advertiser.
