Snap to it
General Manager, Stephanie Somerville, is bringing a new monthly publication to the Cranbrook/Kootenay media scene. Her Snap website states, "Snap East Kootenay is a free monthly publication specializing in providing a 'non-political,' friendly and entertaining photographic view of living in our community. We are currently finalizing our first edition. Please check back soon for all the events and photographs."
The monthly is a franchise and evidently it has garnered some success in other markets. Snap, with a very formatted approach, will enter the media fray and butt heads directly with Black Press's Kootenay New Advertiser (and their string of weekly newspapers in Fernie, Creston, Golden and Invermere) and The Townsman/Bulletin—the two entrenched media properties in the Kootenays.
Here's the franchise pitch for the publication:
This is your opportunity to be successful, become your own boss and showcase the lives of those within your community!
The Snap Newspaper Group business model is based on a proven system.
Snap Newspaper Group franchise owners operate this white collar, home-based business by utilizing our proven systems. Contact us today to learn more about Snap and to benefit from our successful community–centred publishing, advertising, marketing and public relations model that eliminates the need for high overhead costs associated with a traditional brick and mortar business.
At Snap Newspaper Group Inc., we pride ourselves in the continued development of the relationship we have with our franchisees and encourage creative participation in the ongoing growth of the company. We anticipate strong franchise growth and are actively seeking franchise applications across Europe and North America.
Makes it sound easy but with publishing margins getting thinner and thinner it will be interesting to see if Snap has the crackle and pop to sustain itself in an already busy media marketplace.
