Size of Creston’s Gold-N-Treasures store doubles
Gold-N-Treasures is one of the best stocked prospecting and gemstone outlets in the Kootenays, if not the province of B.C.
Located on Creston's main thoroughfare, Kevin and Sandy Smith's Gold-N-Treasures is proving that two stores are better than one with the recent doubling of their retail operations.
The couple expanded their business, over the summer, into side-by-side retail outlets.
Kevin runs the prospecting, mining and gold panning equipment part of the business featuring the best brands in prospecting supplies, metal detectors, gold mining equipment and lapidary supplies, equipment and accessories—it is affectionately called the "Rock Shop." His wife Sandy runs the newly opened “Gift Shop” portion of the business featuring a great selection of precious and semi-precious stones, agates, gems and so much more.
Their business is certainly one of the best stocked prospecting and gemstone outlets in the Kootenays, if not the entire province of British Columbia.
"With our emphasis on rock and gem collecting, as well as prospecting supplies, we thought our new name more appropriately reflected what people will find in the store." said Kevin Smith, in an earlier interview with Kootenay Business magazine. "We have operated the store for over six years and the name Beadazzled was a holdover from the previous owners, when the store was basically just selling beads. Gold-N-Treasures better sums up everything we sell today."
In addition to being a certified MineLab metal detector dealer, Gold-N-Treasures carries pretty much anything to do with rocks, gems and gold. Customers will find one of the best selections of lapidary equipment around. Rock tumblers, rock saws and polishers, mining and gold prospecting equipment, books and jewelry are just some of the items they carry.
So next time you are in Creston Valley, plan to take a few minutes to stop by and see Kevin and Sandy at their newly expanded, side-by-side stores, at Gold-N-Treasures located at 1217 Canyon Street, in downtown Creston.
