Ramada Inn and Conference Centre opens in Creston
Ramada Hotels has completed a new hotel and conference centre on the north end of Creston at the turn-off of Highway 3.
The project was built by Revelstoke-based contractor, Vic Van Isle. The project promises to be a boon for tourism and conference trade in the Creston Valley. Next door to the newly completed hotel is a Ricky's restaurant—and immediately behind it, a strip of retail outlets.
The Ramada in Creston now employs up to 40 people between the hotel and the restaurant. Ricky's is comprised of a 128-seat restaurant and a 31-seat lounge. They will cater to the hotel, which has an 80-seat banquet room.
There is also a five-bay commercial/retail mall adjacent to the hotel, of which four bays have been rented with each bay at 1,200 square feet. Overall the Ramada property covers 21 acres, leaving room for further development.
Kerry Hobbs is the general manager of the new Ramada Inn and the Ricky's Restaurant. Hobbs came to Canada five years ago from England, first residing in Castlegar and managing the Sandman Hotel for two years, and the Fireside Inn for three years.
