Citizens, activists, and community connectors from across the Columbia Basin are delighted to welcome the Tamarack Institute’s Paul Born for a one day workshop, “Deepening Community for Collective Impact”.

The workshop takes place Thursday, June 12th, from 8:30am to 4pm at the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson.

Paul Born is the cofounder and President of Tamarack—An Institute for Community Engagement, a global leader on issues of place, collective impact, and community innovation. The author of four books, Born is internationally recognized for his community-building activities that have won awards from the United Nations and as a senior fellow of Ashoka, the world’s largest network of social innovators.

The workshop is sponsored by the Social Planning Action Network (SPAN), Interior Health (Healthy Communities Initiative), Columbia Basin Trust and the REACH Program.

Says Kerri Wall from event co-sponsor Interior Health, “The session that Paul delivered last year, as part of Columbia Basin Trust Symposium, was so warmly received and inspired so many of us in our work to build stronger, more resilient and more connected communities. We are expecting a great turn out for this informative session – it’s a rare appearance he is making in our region.”

Registration is limited and is open to the public with a subsidized sponsored rate of $50 per person which includes refreshments, lunch and session materials.

To register or for more information, please contact the Kootenay Boundary Community Services Co-operative at 250-352-6786 or [email protected]. You can also register online at basinreach.ca/calendar.
