The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce recently introduced their new manager Mike Fitzpatrick.  He replaces former manager Jim Jacobsen who left the Chamber in 2015.

Mike is Alberta-born and raised, with family ties in both the Kootenays and Northern Idaho. He and his wife have had a presence here for many years, and made the permanent move to Creston from Calgary in 2015.

Mike attended St. Francis High School in Calgary, and the Edmonton campus of the University of Alberta. No stranger to hard work, for many years Mike worked two careers simultaneously, one with Canada Post and another in Financial Services Management in the Calgary automotive industry.

While employed with Canada Post, he was seconded to the United Way of Calgary and Area, and received national recognition for his record-setting achievements during that year’s campaign.

Throughout his working career, Mike has concurrently worked on special projects in the community, participated in charity events and supported many fundraising efforts. He brings his love of working hard for a good cause into Creston, volunteering for several charity, non-profit and special events boards or committees locally.

Over the years, he’s taken several continuing education and extension courses, including the Royal Conservatory of Music. Mike has always had a great passion for music. He is a tremendous fan of live music of any kind, and is himself an accomplished composer, playing both the piano and the trumpet.

Mike brings to the Chamber a contagious enthusiasm, a great sense of humour, and an unmistakable drive to pull his community together to benefit everyone.
