One of the best known and loved drinking establishments in the Kootenays is undergoing a major face lift—inside and out.

The Kokanee Cove Neighbourhood Pub, known to most of its patrons as the Moyie Pub, is owned by Doug Maki.

The venerable pub, famous for its mouthwatering fish and chips, has a long colourful history in the region with its high visibility location on busy Highway #3 in Moyie—some 20 kilometres south of Cranbrook.

Originally a hotel built in 1926 to serve the once thriving mining town of Moyie, today the pub features an eclectic display of local artifacts and historical items from the area—as well as serving great food and drinks.

The renovations are nearing completion as the neighbourhood pub in Moyie gears up for a busy summer season.
