The ski season preparation is underway at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. With over 50 centimetres of snow building up in the alpine over the past 48 hours, La Nina has already delivered some substantial snowfall which will be a key factor as the base layer for the season.

“It’s great to see the recent snowfall covering the alpine. Winter is definitely here,” said Steve Paccagnan, president and CEO of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. “With 50 centimetres of snow in the past 48 hours and wind deposits over one metre deep, our mountain operations team is focusing on preparing the terrain for opening day.”

The winter 2010/11 season brings a higher level of anticipation than previous years. With the excitement around the resort’s 10th anniversary season, the mountain is opening a 4th Alpine Bowl coined "Super Bowl." Super Bowl will introduce an epic selection of new terrain with more than 17 advanced and expert chutes.

Opening day for the winter 2010/11 season is scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2010.
