KRT Announces two new appointments

In the wake of longtime employee Chris Andrews leaving Kootenay Rockies Tourism to become general manager of Wildstone Golf Course, Kootenay Rockies Tourism has announced two new appointments.

Wendy Van Puymbroeck has accepted the position of manager, partnership marketing. Wendy comes with over 18 years of experience in the tourism industry—her expertise stems from the airline business and resort marketing and management. Her experience includes working with the Canadian Tourism Commission, Tourism BritishColumbia and international trade and media. Wendy has represented the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino as director of sales and marketing and guest services manager since 2002.

As manager, partnership marketing, Wendy will be responsible for development and implementation of the marketing plan, delivery of the tourism marketing programs, assessment of collaborative marketing initiatives and reporting of results to Tourism British Columbia and to the industry partners.  Wendy will report to the President of Kootenay Rockies Tourism and supervisory responsibilities include the positions of co-ordinator, partnership marketing and community development specialist.

And, Emilie Cayer-Huard will take on the role of community development specialist. Emilie has an excellent background in tourism product development and brings with her four languages, English, Spanish, German and French as she originates from Tadoussac, Quebec. She also brings with her a Research Master’s degree in sustainable tourism, and a Bachelor’s degree in management and planning of mountain territories.

Emilie’s position includes being responsible for supporting and working with the region’s communities in the development and promotion of their tourism infrastructure, products, packaging and sales.
