Our mountain home can be hard to leave; figuratively, but also literally. Recent manufacturing & technology sector (MATS) conversations with 177 innovative companies in the Columbia Basin showed a deep desire for enhanced access to networking, profile-raising and talent attraction opportunities—both inside and outside the region. Or, as the Tech & Knowledge workers elegantly put it: field trips!

You have been heard. Our generous partners at the Columbia Basin Trust (CBT) have on offer some serious KRIC-back: 30 travel bursaries worth $1000 each—for 30 innovative local companies to travel with KAST and KRIC to the BC Tech Summit, hosted by our friends at BC Innovation Council (BCIC) on January 18 and 19th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Over two days in January, the #BCTECH Summit will help BC tech companies attract customers, connect with investors, network and raise profile to recruit skilled workers, and build their brand beyond the region. Here’s how you can take advantage of these opportunities.

  • Meet one-on-one with customers, potential suppliers and government procurement specialists inB2B Meetings. Apply now to take part in these facilitated meetings that match BC tech companies with the people who can help move your business forward.
  • Recruit talent. A career showcase puts your company and opportunities in front of recent grads.
  • Connect with investors. If your company is ready for investment, we can help match you with leading venture capital companies. Find out more and apply for the Venture Capital Presentations.
  • Promote your company at Startup Alley. Be part of this special area of the Trade Show.
  • Learn and be inspired by speakers and panels at the conference. Thought leaders and experts will share their thoughts and change how you think about technology.
  • Show your Kootenay pride with Team KRIC. We'll be onsite at the BC Acceleration Network pavilion, showcasing our Venture Acceleration clients and demonstrating how to imagine (and action) a kickass Kootenay future. Usual shenanigans. Free stuff. Come visit.
