Kootenay Rockies Tourism awards best community marketing initiative

At the recent Kootenay Rockies Tourism annual general meeting held at Copperpoint Resort in Invermere several tourism awards were handed out. The best community marketing initiative recognized a community (city, town or village) that developed and implemented the year’s most innovative tourism marketing campaign, initiative or event.

The winner of the best community marketing initiative was awarded to the City of Cranbrook, Canadian Rockies International Airport and Pacific Coastal Airlines. The awarded recognized the joint effort of these partners as the worked together with Seekers Media to increase visibility and traffic at the Canadian Rockies International Airport and supporting a number of community initiatives including the second annual Grand Fondo of the Kootenays.

City of Cranbrook Economic Development Officer, Kevin Weaver; Canadian Rockies International Airport manger Tristan Chernove; and Pacific Coastal Airlines Kevin Boothroyd were in attendance to accept the award. They were joined by Jim Barr of Seeker Media of Edmonton who developed the campaign for the group.
