This beautiful winter vista is a reminder of the importance of business and commerce in the Kootenays.  In 1864, gold was struck on Wild Horse Creek near Fort Steele and this subsequently lead to the building of the Dewdney Trail and the eventual development of the rich resources throughout the Kootenays.

As we reflect on the importance of business and commerce, we thank all our readers who follow Kootenay Biz Blog on a daily basis -- making it one of the most popular features on the Kootenay Business website in 2015.  We know many also follow us on social media like Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin as well.

It has been our privilege to share with our readers new business announcements, developments, expansions and pertinent business news from throughout the region—once again proving how dynamic, and ever-changing the business scene is in the Kootenays.

We always welcome your input and suggestions. Please contact me directly at [email protected]

Kootenay Biz Blog will take a winter break for the next couple of weeks. It will return on Monday, January 4th, 2016.

Thank you and all the very best in 2016,
