Kootenay Authors’ Book Fair and Sale this Saturday

Have a question about hiking in the great outdoors? Wondering where to take your family on an enjoyable trek? Have a suggestion for a exciting outdoor adventure? Then be sure to attend the Kootenay Authors' Book Fair and Sale this Saturday at Lotus Books in downtown Cranbrook, and visit with bestselling author, Janice Strong.

You are invited to stop by and meet one of the Kootenays favourite bestselling outdoor writer, Janice Strong, who will be one of nine local Kootenay authors in attendance at the Kootenay Authors Book Fair and Sale.

Janice has decades of back country hiking adventures to share, and she welcomes your questions, comments and suggestions. Her popular trail guide—now in its third edition, Mountain Footsteps is packed with valuable insight and information about hiking the trails of the Kootenays. Her book is one of publishing house Rocky Mountain Book's bestselling guides.

Janice will also be participating in the fun “Nine Books in Nine Minutes” event, where each local author will pitch their books and explain why their books should be added to your reading list this year. Janice is an avid hiker and skier, as well as an established photographer. Her popular photos grace the walls of many homes and businesses in the Kootenays.

“I really look forward to meeting outdoor enthusiasts and readers of my book, Mountain Footsteps. I think this is a wonderful opportunity at Lotus Books to talk about outdoor adventure in the Kootenays,” said Janice Strong. “I always like hearing hikers feedback and suggestions about new trails, hiking destinations and adventures in and around the Kootenays.”

You are encouraged to come meet Janice and eight other local writers this Saturday, December 7th, at Lotus Books 33—10th Avenue South in downtown Cranbrook, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

A fun event is scheduled for 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. when there will be book review called Nine Books - Nine Minutes. Each participating author will be given one minute to pitch their book and state why it should be added to your bookshelf.

“We are so excited to have these Kootenay authors in our store—all at one time,” said Erin Dalton, owner of Lotus Books. “At Lotus Books we love special events and this is one great way for us to support the local writers in the community and a turn for our customers to meet these authors in a casual, comfortable setting. We are offering a number of valuable door prizes—just bring a non-perishable item for the Cranbrook Food Bank and you can enter your name to win.”

Nine Kootenay authors will be at Lotus Books all afternoon to sign books, answer questions, speak about and promote their writing.
