Kokanee Springs Resort Club announces course upgrade program
Kokanee Springs Resort Club has announced a two-year course upgrade program designed to further enhance the spectacular golfing experience at their Kokanee Springs Resort Course, which opened April 15 under sunny skies with emerald greens.
“This is a major step in the redevelopment program for Kokanee Springs” said Greg Garbula, vice-president and general manager of Kokanee Springs Resort Club. “The rehabilitation program will enhance play and update the nuances of this famous course. New tee box locations were completed in early September, 2010, which will provide four tee box locations on every hole, commencing with the 2011 season. Additionally, the sand trap renovation program has begun with three holes now rebuilt and filled with sparkling white sand imported from Washington State. The rehabilitation project will continue through the 2011 season. On a primary level, it will make the course more playable for more people, accommodating golfers with different levels of experience. The intent is to keep this Norman Woods masterpiece as true to the original design as possible. Work is scheduled over the 2011 season as part of a five-year development program. The majority of the work will be done in house at our own pace with little or no disruption for golfers.”
Kokanee Springs Resort Club has long been recognized as one of B.C.’s top resort courses and in 2006 was selected as a World’s Best Golf Resort in the Travel and Leisure magazine reader survey. Kokanee Springs, a classic Norman Woods course, opened to the public in 1968. The resort offers multi-packaging opportunities, including the popular Stay and Play packages and the world famous 5 Day Golf School programs with accommodations located on course. The golf season extends from mid-April through mid-October. For more information, please visit: www.kokaneesprings.com; or call 1-800-979-7999
