Make that 118 craft breweries in the British Columbia—according to the Brewer's Guild of B.C. there are 117 micro-breweries across the province and Over Time Beer Works now makes the total 118.

Yes, things are really brewing at the Kootenay's newest craft brewery—Over Time Beer Works in Kimberley. The new micro brewery is located in downtown Kimberley, just north of the Platzl entrance on Wallinger Street.

According the head brewer Matt Philip and CEO Ken Dodd, the new facility can produce about three 1,000 litre batches per week. They have launched with four brands: Copper Top Wheat Beer, Good Evening Brown Ale, Mountain Standard Gold Ale and Right About Now IPA.

Their tasting room/tap room has a seating capacity of 30 to 35 and the brewery totals about 3,000 square feet in total area. The plan is to introduce small batch runs over the next few months and some seasonal brews as well. Over Time is anticipating the arrival of a beer canning machine in the future as well.

Head brewer Matt Philip says the reaction from Kimberley and area residents, as well as visitors, is exceeding their early expectations. Over Time Beers Works is open 10 am-7 pm, 7 days a week. Stop in, fill a growler or enjoy a taste sample.
