The City announced recently the appointment of Scott Sommerville to the role of chief administrative officer. Scott has been a familiar face in the Kootenay region for the last five years as the chief administrative officer for the municipality of Salmo. In addition to taking the lead role of the City, Scott brings an enthusiasm and experience from both private and public sectors that will allow the City to focus even more on internal operations and their external partnerships.

“The City is very fortunate to attract and retain such talented and passionate staff and I am pleased to include Scott to our dedicated complement, to strengthen the City’s ability to integrate the delivery of services and address one of the strategic priorities identified in the Corporate Strategic Plan. I welcome him to our City and wish him all the best in his new role, knowing he will bring added value to the City,” said Mayor Ron McRae.

Scott Sommerville, his wife, Rachel, and their two boys are very excited about moving to the community of Kimberley. Mr. Sommerville’s official first day was June 17, 2013, at which time he can be contacted at [email protected].
