Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is pleased to announce an early opening and bonus weekend of operations from December 3 to 5. With good snowfall accumulation over the past three weeks, the opening comes one week ahead of the mountain’s scheduled opening date of December 10.

“We are excited to kick off our 10th anniversary celebration season ahead of plan,” said Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. “This is only going heighten anticipation in the ski and ride community. With our tenth year celebrations, the La Nina weather systems are due to blanket the mountains this winter and the soon-to-open fourth Alpine Bowl is going to be on Kicking Horse Mountain Resort this winter.”

Two Alpine Bowls are confirmed to open on Friday December 3, with skiing and riding available from the top of the mountain to the base. Open alpine terrain will be the grounds for Bowl Over and Crystal Bowl, including the south facing slopes of Redemption Ridge. The Golden Eagle Express Gondola, Stairway to Heaven and Catamount Chairs will be in operation for the weekend. With more snowfall in the forecast over the next week, the opening of additional terrain is very possible.

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a world-class four-season destination resort located 2.5 hours west of Calgary, nestled between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains in the heart of British Columbia. Winter offers a fully integrated mountain resort experience and the most progressive in-bounds skiing in North America. For more information please visit www.kickinghorseresort.com.
