Junior Dragon Den West Kootenay champions announced

The winners in the Junior Dragon Den West Kootenay Championships were recently announced and they will be advancing to the Junior Dragon Den Provincial Championships, held May 5th at the Charles Bailey Theatre in Trail.

Congratulations to all the finalists from the West Kootenays and we wish you well on May 5th.

Junior Division (Gr 7-10)

  • 1st — Myles Peterson, Peterson Cryogenic Labs, Stanley Humphries Secondary, Castlegar.
  • 2nd — Katherine Wall, Selkirk Seaglass, St. Josephs School, Nelson.
  • 3rd — Rebekah Syme, Welcome Home Décor, Salmo Secondary School, Salmo.

College/University division

  • 1st — Vanessa Ford, Josh Skinner,  Academy Care Box, Selkirk College, Castlegar (Vanessa is a former competitor from the senior division and winner).
  • 2nd — Cameron Olsen, Wild Kootenay Honey, Okanagan University College. Cameron is from Nakusp and has also competed before with a team from Nakusp Secondary.
  • 3rd — Victoria Danylenko, Nicolas Bonacci, Austin Forry, Sheldon Farenholtz, Selkirk College. Virtual Reality of the Kootenays (Austin is also a past competitor in the Senior division when he was attending Stanley Humphries).
