Owner Steve Streloff of Kootenay Klothes Kloset Ltd—parent company of JJ Fashions in Castlegar and Trail—is currently constructing a new building on busy Highway 22 just south of Canadian Tire in Castlegar.

JJ Fashions is one of the leading fashion retailers in the West Kootenay and Streloff hopes to be in the new building by late June or early July. The two-storey building is being built by contractor BPR Construction and the architect was Meikeljohn Architects Inc.

Their website states, "Our roots are in denim. JJ's originally opened in the early '70s, and since then we have continually evolved into the youth-driven, lifestyle store you see today. Our diverse selection of styles and brand names makes JJ's your one stop fashion shop. JJ Fashions has two locations, Castlegar and Trail. This allows us to carry deeper inventory levels, which means, odds are, we will have what you need close by.  Due to our size and tight relationship with our customers, we have the ability to react quickly to new trends and customer requests."

The new building will also have a 600-square-foot space for rent on the main floor and office space available upstairs for rent as well.
