Long time owners of Invermere's Sobey's, have sold out to new ownership.

The Columbia Valley Pioneer is reporting that the long-time owners of Invermere’s biggest grocery store, Sobeys, have sold out to new ownership.

Randy and Wende Brash, Doug and Beth Degrazio, Tim Brash and Kim Hutton—all part of the past ownership group—recently sold the full-line grocery store to Brad and Andrea Bromley of Leduc, Alberta.

New co-owner, Brad Bromley, brings an extensive grocery store background with him, having worked in his father's grocery store for many years in Alberta, also a Sobeys store.

“After 28 years at the helm of one of the valley’s largest grocery stores, it was time for retirement,” Randy Brash told the newspaper.

The store was known for many years as an IGA Garden Market until 2006 when all the IGA stores were re-branded as Sobeys outlets.

"I would like to thank everyone that has supported us throughout the years. We have wonderful people working in the store here and I know that Brad and Andrea will do a great job," said Randy Brash.
