Kimberley wants your input on the future

by

The City of Kimberley has engaged the Whistler Centre for Sustainability to assist in the development of the ImagineKimberley Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP). An ICSP is a high-level strategic document that is written by the community, informed by sustainability principles, and guides the community into the future. It is a holistic and integrated planning approach and process that identifies strategies and short-, medium- and long-term actions for implementation, tracks and monitors progress and is reviewed on an annual basis.

An ICSP also provides guidance for the development or alignment of all municipal or government plans, policies and decisions (e.g. Official Community Plan, transportation plan, energy plans, purchasing policies, capital planning, etc.) under one integrated decision-making framework.

An ICSP is as much a process as it is a plan. The end result is more than a document: it is in fact an ongoing process of engaging you and others in the community in co-creating and updating a vision of a sustainable future and linking that to realistic planning and collaborative action today.

As a citizen of Kimberley, you play a pivotal role in helping to shape the future success of the community and as such, we request your assistance by completing this survey:

ImagineKimberley Survey

The survey questions will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please note that this survey will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011.

The purpose of this survey is to understand your views on the potential challenges and opportunities associated with the community's future. The results will help inform the ICSP process that the municipality and community are embarking on for the next six months.

You can also contribute to the ICSP by attending the ImagineKimberley community sustainability sessions to be held on January 14 (evening) and 15 (afternoon).
