Great Canadian Oil Change building in Castlegar

Builder, Dave Zimmer will also manage the new Castlegar site when it opens later this summer.

The popular B.C.-based quick-service oil change company, the Great Canadian Oil Change, is building a new location franchise in Castlegar.

The new outlet will be located on Castlegar's busy Columbia Avenue -- reportedly one of the Kootenays most frequently traveled roadways.

The two-bays facility is being constructed by Dave Zimmer (pictured),who will be manager of the new Castlegar site once it opens later in the summer of 2015.

This is the Kootenay's second Great Canadian Oil Change location, the first one opened several years ago in Cranbrook.

Here is some background on the Great Canadian Oil Change company. In 1978 Trevor Weflen opened the first Great Canadian Oil Change in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The location is still one of the top sales leaders in the group. Our first franchise was opened in 1990. Currently there are over sixty franchises in place including one in the Bahamas. Many more locations are to open in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario in the near future.
