Golden’s Whitetooth Brewery set to bite into the Kootenay beer scene
Construction at one of the Kootenay’s newest micro-breweries is well underway in Golden.
Construction at one of the Kootenay’s newest micro-breweries is well underway in Golden. The Whitetooth Brewing Co., is located in downtown Golden. It has progressed nicely over the winter and should be fully open and operational by late summer or early fall of 2016.
One of the co-owners Kenton Donaldson tells us about all the construction activity happening on-site: ”The slab is poured with trench drains in place, a huge amount of electrical and mechanical is happening, various pieces of equipment (chiller, boiler, compressor, water system) have arrived. We are awaiting installation, the tasting room frame structure is built, and exterior cladding with doors and windows will likely be installed by end of May. The Brewhouse is scheduled for arrival at end of May. We are still shooting for end of the summer for opening.”
The micro-brewery, named for Golden’s original ski hill, is owned by Mark Nagao and Kenton Donaldson. The brewery will have a tasting hall as well as retail sales of 650-milliliter bottles, growlers, 30- and 50-litre kegs and beer-related merchandise. “Our goal is to marry the best experiences that our area has to offer with the perfect beverage afterwards,” said Donaldson, in an earlier interview with Kootenay Business.
Watch for the official opening later in 2016, as Whitetooth Brewing Co. eagerly looks forward to joining the burgeoning micro-brewery scene in the Kootenays.
