Golden Life Management moves to new corporate offices

The new corporate offices are located near the Moir Park sports fields, at 521 Industrial Rd. G in Cranbrook.

One of the largest employers in the region, senior living provider Golden Life Management (GLM) has constructed and moved into new corporate offices near the Moir Park sports fields. The new offices are located at 521 Industrial Road G in Cranbrook.

Since 1998, Golden Life has grown into the Kootenays largest seniors housing and care provider as well as the sixth largest employer. They provide services to over 1300 seniors and work with a team of approximately 1000 staff.

Former Interior Health executive Jason Giesbrecht was appointed COO of GLM last September.

Golden Life Management is a leading provider of seniors living communities throughout southern British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. The company's goal is to support seniors of all ages and abilities in their efforts to live their best life possible.

Their housing portfolio encompasses the full range of housing and service options, including life leases, independent living, assisted living, and residential care programs. Golden Life's extensive experience in design, construction and operation of seniors housing and care communities allows their residents to maximize their physical, social and emotional independence.

According to a presentation at the 2016 AKBLG conference in Kimberley, by the Golden’s Life’s VP of Corporate Business, Celeste Mullin, the company’s success has been a result of a number of successful strategic partnerships.

“Blending a strong understanding of design, philosophy and operations with a solid business management focus,” Celeste Mullin explained. “(The company) has built strategic partnerships with Interior Health and Alberta Health, local colleges and schools, businesses, and Columbia Basin Trust which has enabled Golden Life to grow and successfully navigate through challenges that have arisen. This has ensured Golden Life to be a sustainable organization providing quality care and viable employment for many communities throughout the Kootenays.”

Golden Life operates ten senior care facilities in the Kootenays and two in Alberta.  They are Castle Wood Village, Castlegar; Columbia Garden Village, Invermere; Crest View Village, Creston; Garden View Village, Kimberley; Joseph Creek Village, Cranbrook; Lake View Village, Nelson; Mountainside Village, Fruitvale, Rocky Mountain Village, Fernie; Rose Wood Village, Trail; Whispering Winds Village, Pincher Creek, Alberta; Silver Kettle Village, Grand Forks and Evanston Grand Village, Calgary, Alberta.

Columbia Basin Trust has a 50% ownership interest in the seniors’ housing and care communities that are operated by Golden Life in the Kootenays.
