Just in time for the spring hatch the popular St. Mary Angler Fly Shop, which shut its doors in Marysville last year, has re-opened in Cranbrook next to Pizza Hut.

The store is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Kelly and Karen Laatsch. It features a great selection of rods, reels, hand-tied flies, fly tying supplies and equipment — and just about everything else a newbie or experienced fly fisherman could want.

The new shop is bit bigger than the previous Marysville location, which the Laatsch operated for 11 years. A big part of the business is the guided tours they run on many of the popular rivers and lakes in the region including the St. Mary, Upper Columbia and the Elk rivers.

So whether it’s a hackle or Doc Spratley, a fly rod or fish net, chances are you will find it at Cranbrook’s newest fly fishing shop — the St. Mary Angler.
