Last week I had the opportunity to tour the impressive new Fernie RV Resort along with managing partner Reto Barrington.  The 30-acre site is nestled in along the Elk River and offers a magnificent 360-degree view of the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

The resort has 115 RV camping sites, of which 71 are deluxe back-in sites, 26 are premium pull-through sites, 17 tenting sites and one group tent site that can accommodate up to 30 guests.

“We are now open, with our washroom and shower building just being completed, in the centre of the resort,” said Reto Barrington, managing partner of Fernie RV Resort.  “All our sites have a fire ring and picnic table. Full-service, year round hook-ups at each site include water, sewer and electricity. All RV sites have 30 and 50 amp service and Wi-Fi.”

The resort will have a commercial grade laundry facility, private family-style washrooms that include a shower, sink and toilet.  There are plans for a large hot tub, children’s playground and spray park play area for children.

City, tourism officials and visiting RVers have long identified the need for a RV park for visiting RVers and campers in the town, and the spectacular setting of the new Fernie RV Resort certainly fits the bill.

The Fernie RV Resort is located minutes off of Highway #3 and is adjacent to the Fernie Golf and Country Club.
