Early season record snowfall and over 50 centimetres in the last 24 hours gives Kicking Horse the perfect early opening, now scheduled for December 1st. Over 206 centimetres of snow has fallen so far with more on the way, so make plans to get on the Horse!

Early season snowfall has pushed opening day early, as major storms hammer the Powder Highway favourite, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Known for champagne powder, spectacular terrain and over 80 plus chutes, this is the place to kick off your ski season this winter.

“With lots of fresh powder snow in the alpine, opening day will offer an epic experience with 4,100 vertical feet of the Rockies' best skiing,” said Steve Paccagnan, president of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. "Additionally, our early opening will mark the first full winter with our new resort family, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies and we are proud to be showcasing Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to a whole new group of skiers/riders."

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the perfect spot for your ski vacation this winter, located in the heart of British Columbia, along the Powder Highway; it’s one of the few places in North America blessed with deep and reliable snow.
