The newest restaurant to join the ranks of the busy Cranbrook dining scene is Rocky's Donair located at 714 Cranbrook Street North.

The new eatery specializes in genuine beef donairs which come in regular, super or jumbo sizes.  Döner kebab or donair is a Turkish dish made of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, normally lamb but sometimes beef or chicken.

Owners Sal and Lucy Salame recently moved from Edmonton and have extensive restaurant experience.  "I was born in a pizza box," laughed Sal Salame.  "My father was one of the original founders of the popular Alberta pizza company called Pizza 73, I have been working in restaurants all my life."

Rocky's Donair has been open for six weeks and Sal says the reaction in Cranbrook has been very positive.  "People are loving our donairs.  They are good and tasty in both sweet or garlic flavours."

With a 4.8 rating on their Facebook page Rocky's Donair is particularly pleased with comments like this one, "Amazing taste.. Been talking about donairs for over 10 years now I can stop because they're here and they're just as I remember.. Impressed!"

Visit Rocky's Donair for a new and delicious dining experience.  The small restaurant has limited seating and primarily caters to take-out orders.  As Sal Salame says, "You've tried the rest, now it's time to try the best."
