Creston Valley launches re-branding initiative
It’s an exciting week for the Creston Valley, as they have launched their new branding and imagery on a brand new website. The Creston Chamber of Commerce in partnership with RDCK Areas B and C and the Town of Creston have launched a new website, CrestonValleyBC.com.
The new brand is running under the slogan, Growing Together. Here is some copy from the homepage headlined, You`re getting warmer:
“Welcome to a still, spectacular scene. To sun-drenched, fertile fields and sweeping mountain vistas. To velvety, star-strewn night skies and warm, gentle breezes. From the emerald cliffs of the Skimmerhorn to the diamond surface of Kootenay Lake, across orchards and vineyards, through wetland and wilderness teeming with life – this is the Creston Valley.
"Tucked into the sunny bench between the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges, the Creston Valley is a perfect retreat for outdoor adventurers, foodies, creative souls, lovers of the land, and anyone in need of a wholesome home-away-from-home experience.
"The Creston Valley’s unique climate and incomparable geography make it a place where you can feast like royalty on a 10-mile diet, thanks to its rich, diverse agricultural industry, and then wet your whistle with locally-produced wine and beer. A large, talented community of artists and artisans gives colour and texture to the Valley’s culture. The Lower Kootenay Band of the Ktunaxa nation carries forth its ancient cultural heritage and a language so distinct that it is unconnected to any other in the world. The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area, a Ramsar designated wetland of international importance, covers 17,000 acres, boasts 32 kilometres of walking trails, and is home to over 300 species of birds, 57 species of mammals, and 29 species of fish, reptiles, and amphibians. And with annual average rainfall of a mere 49 centimetres and above-freezing mid-winter temperatures, nature itself extends year-round hospitality.”
Matt Thompson’s Story and Co., based in Kimberley and responsible for a number of community re-branding initiatives in the region including those for Sparwood, Golden and Grand Forks, developed the new Creston Valley concepts and new branding.
