Cranbrook abuzz with new retail activity

Is it spring fever or what? The Cranbrook retail sector is abuzz with activity these days and this bodes well for the community.  Here is brief rundown of what is happening the Cranbrook retail scene….

  • Richard Klassen, owner of Kootenay Granite, has removed the old Woodlands building to make way for a new high visibility location for his Kootenay Granite company
  • Denham Ford is rumoured to be looking to build a new Ford dealership at the north end of Cranbrook Street; Cranbrook Harley-Davidson is headed across the street to a new location near the Import Auto Group
  • Just 4 Pets is one of the newest additions to Cranbrook's busy retail scene. The new full-line pet store is located on Cranbrook Street and just recently opened its doors.
  • Sussex Insurance, now called Brothers Insurance, is moving into the soon vacated Golf Etc location
  • Golf Etc is moving their operations to the Cranbrook Rec Plex
  • A new Wendy’s restaurant has broken ground next to Willow Appliances
  • Fitz Flooring, a Calgary-based business has opened on Cranbrook street—Fitz also has a store in Invermere
  • Wild Stone Golf Course is set to open on June 1, 2011
  • MJ Floral Designs are to moving to new location on Baker Street in downtown Cranbrook

There is never a dull moment in Cranbrook's retail sector this spring.  It is certainly a positive sign for the vitality of local businesses.
