College of the Rockies’ Director, Continuing Education, Contract Training and Regional Campus Operations, Leah Bradish is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Cooper as Business Development Manager, based out of the Kimberley campus.

Cooper, who will begin his new role on October 31, 2016, has been with the College since 2006, most recently as Manager, International Education. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and had an eclectic career prior to joining the College that included engineering, photojournalism and outdoor leader/instructor.

“I am excited to welcome Jeff to the regional team,” Bradish says. “His energy, ideas and experience will be a great contribution.”

One of the key goals of Cooper’s position is to build upon the Kimberley campus’ strong foundation to help it to become even stronger and a more viable and visible part of the community. The Kimberley campus currently has a number of solid programs, including the Fire Training Certificate program and a suite of custom fire training and certification contracts designed to assist professional and volunteer fire departments across Canada and internationally.

“I am excited about this new opportunity, especially to be able to help grow the Kimberley campus operations while contributing in a positive and meaningful way to the community where I live and that I love so much,” Cooper says.

Cooper has resided in Kimberley for over 10 years with his wife and two children and is looking forward to being a part of the growth and community development the city has been experiencing in recent years.

“For the first couple of months I intend to do a lot of listening to and learning from my colleagues and staff at the Kimberley campus, as well as from local business and the greater community to see how we may better serve the residents of Kimberley,” Cooper adds.

Outside of work, Cooper is an avid outdoorsperson and enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, skiing and canoeing. He is an avid photographer and has also performed in a number of Cranbrook Community Theatre productions.
