City of Fernie brings new CAO on board

Mr. McInnis fills the position of CAO which has remained empty since former CAO Jim Hendricks left the city.

Mr. Norm McInnis has been named the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Fernie. Mr. McInnis will take the position starting November 1, 2016. He comes after serving for eight years as CAO with the Town of Olds, Alberta.

In total he brings with him more than 14 years of municipal experience having also previously held the CAO position in towns Westlock and Picture Butte. He holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University, as well as the professional designation of Certified Local Government Manager. Back in 2014 he was recognized with the Society of Local Alberta Government Managers’ Award of Excellence.

Mr. McInnis fills the position of CAO which has remained empty since former CAO Jim Hendricks took the Chief Financial Officer position at the City of Kimberley earlier this year.
