The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) has been listed by Business in Vancouver newspaper (BIV) as the 10th largest educational charitable organization in British Columbia. CBAL has assets of $784,431; liabilities of $337,674; revenue of $1.72 million and expenditures of $1.65 million.

CBAL is based out of Invermere with Marilyn Peterson (pictured center) the chairperson and Ali Wassing the executive director.

CBAL is the only Kootenay-based organization to appear on the list of 20 of B.C.’s biggest educational charitable organizations.

CBT has partnered with CBAL since CBAL's inception in 2001. A recent partnership renewal brings CBT's total contribution to the organization to over $4 million.
