It looks like Revelstoke's popular craft brewery Mt. Begbie Brewing Co., is staying put in the City and is actually looking to expand.

The Revelstoke Times is reporting that the Brewery is looking to expand and is eyeing a parcel of land on Farrell Road.

An application for an amendment to the current Official Community Plan (OCP) has been filed with the City for re-zoning consideration.

The article cites sources from the City as saying, "The new brewery would include a larger retail and tasting component that would complement a patio that faces the neighbouring railway museum."

The above photo illustrates a draft design concept, as submitted to the City, for the building and development of the expanded brewery.

This all boils down to good news for Revelstoke as there was talk of the brewery packing up and moving to the Shuswap.

Mt. Begbie Brewing Co., is owned and operated by Bart and Tracey Larson. In a previous interview, the couple told Kootenay Business that Bart focuses mainly on the mechanics of the operation while Tracey is responsible for administration and marketing, though she credits Bart with the creative and locally inspired brew names, such as Selkirk Stout and Powerhouse Pale Ale.

Mt. Begbie Brewing Co., is based in Revelstoke, B.C.
