Over the past six years Scott has been hosting a contest that encourages people to nominate someone they feel could use help “getting connected” to the newest technology. This year the prize package will bring the lucky winner a new notebook, wireless router, all-in-one printer, and one year of high-speed internet service.

To Help Someone Get Connected all you have to do is write a letter of 200 words or less at why you feel this person, organization or business could use a helping hand. The winner will be determined based on community involvement, extending themselves to help those in need, and their efforts in working to make a better community. Not only could you provide someone with the much-needed boost to get ahead, but if your letter is the lucky winner you will also be rewarded with one year of complimentary Phoenix Advantage service and support.

The contest runs from August 1st to the 31st - you can take your nomination letter directly to Phoenix Computers and Technology on Baker St, email to [email protected] or message them through Facebook.

Past winners of the Help Someone Get Connected contest have included a person who used the package to help her increase her education in helping the elderly, and an individual with barriers to employment with which their new system helped them to secure a job and grow their career. The most recent winner was the Earth Matters Eco Store who used the technology to help educate people about their community recycling options.

“Giving back to the community is extremely important to secure Nelson as a sustainable community with a strong local trade and economy.” Quotes Scott of Phoenix, “Any time I get the opportunity, I try to help locally. The community supports me, so I always try to give back whenever I can.”

You can enter to Help Someone Get Connected 2013 from August 1st to 31st by dropping off your letter of nomination at Phoenix Computers and Technology 468 Baker St., or email [email protected].
