The Kootenay i-Tech Trade Show & Luncheon, organized by Kootenay Business, will be held in both Nelson and Cranbrook at the end of May. Register in advance and double your chance to win a new Blackberry Playbook.

“We are presenting the first ever technological showcase event in the Kootenays and we are giving away a new Blackberry Playbook—one of hottest selling new tablets,” said Kootenay Business publisher Keith Powell. “We are trying to bring together what’s new and exciting and innovative in technology. There seems to be an appetite for the business community to learn more about the digital options.”

Guest presenter Lyn Blanchard from Creekstone Consulting in Vancouver will discuss her book in progress, Your Capital Edge—An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Raising Equity Capital.

“Many entrepreneurs need to create a capital edge,” said Blanchard, “and show that they are building a business, not just a business plan.”

Blanchard said she will address common entrepreneurial myths and give an overview of her 4-S framework for entrepreneurs, highlighting strategy, structure, substance and sizzle.

Powell said exhibitors will include technological experts like security companies, web designers, computer experts and inventors. He hopes for the event to continue and to grow in the future.

Blanchard will also conduct a breakdown session at 1:30 p.m. followed by Grant Sutherland, owner of Valhalla Consulting, doing a breakout session on taking the mysteries out of cloud computing.

To register call Nikki Field at 1-800-663-8555. The fee is $25 if paid in advance. This includes the tradeshow, breakout session and luncheon.
