At the 2013 SICA (Southern Interior Construction Association) Building Awards, held in Kelowna on October 17th, the team of Mica Heli-ski, Vic Van Isle (VVI) Construction, CEI Architecture and all the accompanying trades who helped put together one of the most challenging builds in recent years were awarded with the prestigious Hospitality award for the luxurious new Mica Heli-ski Lodge. Accepting the award was Project Manager for VVI Construction, Bruce Walker.

Mica Heli Ski and VVI Construction partnered to develop the premier heli ski property located 180 km north of Revelstoke, B.C., on the north shore of Kinbasket Lake, BC. This roughly 15,000 square foot building was a welcome addition to the Columbia/Shuswap area.

Initiated summer 2011, VVI Construction completed this contemporary cross-laminated timber design in December 2012. As with most other remote heli ski lodges built by VVI Construction in the past, this project had many logistical challenges for our crews but they did an outstanding job.

Mica Heli Guides has been rated the best heli skiing in Canada. Renowned for its spectacular terrain, boutique small group heli skiing and exceptional service — Mica Heli Guides choose the best in everything they do.
