Pacific Coastal Airlines has officially launched its new route connecting Cranbrook (YXC) and Kelowna (YLW), marking a significant step forward in regional air travel across British Columbia. The inaugural flight brought together airline representatives, airport officials, local leaders, business partners, and members of the media to celebrate this convenient new connection.

The day began in Cranbrook with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and swag bags for passengers on the first flight, which departed at 9:00 a.m. and landed in Kelowna on schedule at 8:55 a.m. Among the guests onboard were representatives from Pacific Coastal Airlines, Cranbrook Airport, Kootenay Rockies Tourism, and Tourism Cranbrook, reflecting the collaborative effort behind the new service.

At Kelowna International Airport, the inaugural flight was greeted with remarks from City of Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas, Pacific Coastal Airlines Director of Commercial Planning Berkan Kucukkatipoglu, YXC Financial Manager Gemma Hamilton, and YLW Director of Operations & Innovation Phillip Elchitz. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting commemorated the start of operations, followed by a reception for business partners to explore Pacific Coastal’s expanding service offerings and regional growth plans.
