Ainsworth offers the whole package

Guests at Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort are seeing some impressive new upgrades

by

Ainsworth Hot Springs is unquestionably one of the most enticing tourist attractions in the West Kootenay. Throughout the year thousands of visitors gather at this bliss-inducing location to soak in the natural odourless hot springs, explore the inside of a 150-foot horseshoe cave and take a dip in the stream-fed cold plunge pool. There is also a main lounging pool for water lovers of all ages to enjoy.

In April of 2012, the Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort completed some major upgrades, which had been in the works since November 2, 2011. There were 41 rooms renovated, with the installation of new carpeting, plumbing, showers, heating and cooling units, windows, wallpaper, mirrors and cabinets. The room renovations also included new flat-screen televisions and entry doors, complete with keyless entry locks.

"Our last renovation was in 2000 so it was time to upgrade," said Karen LeMoel, general manager of Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort. "We also renovated the men's and women's change rooms at the pool. We now have glass doors on the shower stalls and the showers are sensor activated. We also installed extractors in each of the change rooms so you can spin your swimsuit dry before you leave. It's hard to recognize the change rooms—they are so clean and beautiful."

A job well done

The changes have not gone unnoticed by customers at the resort. Ainsworth has been beloved by Kootenay residents and visitors since the beginning, so all these exciting new features have definitely put smiles on their faces.

"Our guests are really happy with the upgrade and clean new look," said LeMoel. "We have had so many positive comments. Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort has been an attraction in the West Kootenay for a century."

As LeMoel also pointed out, the friendly service offered by the resort staff serves as the perfect complement to the improvements that have taken place. The combination of premium facilities and exemplary service makes Ainsworth even more of a must-see than ever before.

"We take pride in the fact that most of our business is from repeat guests and word of mouth," said LeMoel. "New signage is (also) in the works—it's time for that, too!"

The staff at Ainsworth encourage guests to "come for the water and stay for the night." While summer is peak season for the resort, winter brings its own rewards. Those who come by during the colder months will be able to benefit from a quieter experience, and indulge in the soothing heat of the mineral waters even as the snow falls around them.
