As 2013 begins, we salute the businesses that appear on our latest list of Top 120 employers. This list, compiled in December 2012, is based on numbers of regular employees in each business. Three new companies appear this time around, two in the East Kootenay and one in the West Kootenay. Welcome to Big Red Cat Skiing (Red Shutter Inn Ltd.), based in Rossland, along with the Elkford Motor Inn and Dacota Freight Service Ltd. in Cranbrook.  Of particular note is that a number of businesses in the forestry/lumber/wood products sector saw an uptick in employee numbers from the previous year.
