Just like its customers, this store has grown

Lifetime Cranbrook citizen Megan Lescanec is helping the city’s littlest citizens and their mommies to look good.

Prior to buying Bumble Tree in March 2011, Lescanec worked at the store for a couple of years, selling clothing and other necessities for children. In August 2012, when the owners of Marcella’s Dress Shops Ltd.—Bumble Tree's next-door neighbour—retired and closed their store, Lescanec decided to lease that premises as well. She temporarily closed Bumble Tree at the beginning of September 2012 and got busy expanding her store into the additional space.

Two weeks later Bumble Tree reopened, carrying a line of maternity clothes—a much-needed and warmly welcomed addition to this niche market in Cranbrook—children’s clothing and an increased selection of car seats and strollers.

“We’ve got a prime location right on the corner, with lots of light, lots of windows and great traffic flow,” Lescanec said. “It’s more comfortable now for customers to come inside with their strollers. Everybody loves the new space.”

Bumble Tree is located at the corner of 12th Avenue and Baker Street in Cranbrook, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
