Kris Witt Accounting in Nelson celebrates 30 years of holistic accounting in the West Kootenay.

The holistic approach comes from Witt's background as a registered nurse. Values of caring, nurturing and looking at the big picture of her clients and exploring their hopes, dreams, issues and plans over the long term have been her formula for success.

“I call myself a holistic accountant," said Witt. "I’m interested in the entirety of the client’s life—not just their business or last year's tax return. You have to look at everything and help them to explore what they need and want their money to be doing for them.”

In most homes, when there is a family decision to make, the clan will gather at the kitchen table—a familiar and comfortable setting where discussions and decisions regarding myriad topics take place, including financial.

When you visit with Witt to discuss your financial planning, you sit with her at a circular kitchen table in her kitchen. This is one of the physical foundations to Witt's holistic view of accounting.

“My boardroom is my kitchen table and clients really like that," said Witt. "It’s a very informal setting."

At Kris Witt Accounting, Witt's explanations and procedures are clear and defined without the usual accounting lingo or convoluted tax bafflegab. Regardless of your life’s current situation or station, Kris Witt Accounting can help you with strategies to manage growth, human resources, startups and small businesses, exit and retirement planning and managing your finances through retirement.

“I really do have fun in my job—I really enjoy it,” said Witt.
