Invermere is a choice destination for winter fun, whether that involves curling on the lake or skiing the slopes.

Visit the village

Just a short distance from Invermere, Panorama Mountain Village is a veritable winter paradise. The cozy alpine community offers several resort package deals, so you can customize your vacation. This area is a hub of recreation, with activities such as heli-skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding available. After a day on the slopes you can enjoy a hot meal at one of the village’s deluxe restaurants, or relax at one of the pleasant local accommodations.

Experience sledding bliss

On the trails surrounding Invermere, snowmobiling aficionados will be in their glory. The Windermere Valley Snowmobile Club maintains kilometres of groomed terrain that allows you to see the splendid Columbia Valley in a way that can only be seen from the seat of a snowmobile. Guests can also snowmobile with Toby Creek Adventures, booked through Panorama Mountain Village.

Take the Nordic route

If Nordic skiing is more your style, the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club can point you in the right direction. The club’s goal is to attract new participants to this engaging sport. It offers a range of programs for skiers of all ages, including learn-to-ski programs and classic and skate ski clinics. The club encourages skiers to check out the Lake Windermere Whiteway trails, and club members also maintain the Hale Hut at Panorama’s Greywolf Nordic Centre. There are other nearby areas where you can go cross-country skiing, including Nipika Mountain Resort, Edgewater and Radium Resort Golf Course.
