Trailblazing through town
A series of proposed trails would connect facilities
Grand Forks residents have seen the development of paths along the Granby River, and there is an opportunity to see more trails established.
“We have an ongoing project of developing pathways, what we like to call our non-motorized transportation corridors,” said Lynne Burch, chief administrative officer for the City of Grand Forks. “We have a pro- posed pathway that would link residents in the south part of the city to schools and recreation and senior facilities.”
Burch said that the project is subject to an alternative approval process, which the city is currently undergoing. Some grant money, totalling 30 per cent of the project’s cost, has been secured.
