A real glass act
A familiar fixture in Creston, Orchard Valley Glass, will soon be moving to a different location with a brand-new building
If you're a Creston Valley resident, there's a good chance you've seen yourself reflected in Bob and Howard Graham's work—literally. For the past 15 years, the brothers Graham have owned and operated Orchard Valley Glass, a business specializing in automobile windshield and glass installation and repair.
Big changes are taking place with the company, as Orchard Valley Glass will soon be moving to a different location with a brand new building. Construction on the new shop commenced in the spring of 2011, with the work being done by local contractors.
"We kept the same size—the new building is actually two feet narrower than what we have (in our present location)," said Bob. "But, it’s laid out so much better that we’re going to have a lot more room."
The primary benefit of the new site, said Bob, is visibility. The new building is situated directly on the highway towards the north end of town. Bob expects to be moved in by the end of August.
After a lifetime of work in the automobile industry—Bob installed his first windshield in 1967—Bob said he's pleased with how Orchard Valley Glass conducts its work.
"I’m proud of the way we have run our company," said Bob, "in that we are very dedicated to customer service and we’ve gone out of our way to make a good clientele. The way to do that is to look after them."
