Retail developments and rumours

More retail developments in Cranbrook’s SmartCentres, the home of big box retailers like Wal Mart and Superstore, as the shopping area adds more retail outlets. The latest addition is a new La Vie en Rose store—retailer of lingerie, sleep and lounge wear, swimwear and more. In addition to the store’s women’s line, La Vie en Rose caters to men as well.

Also rumoured to be in the development and planning stage is a new Sport Chek store for the retail power centre. Sport Chek is owned by Canadian Tire and is a popular full-line sports retailer.

It is also rumoured that the in-store Wal Mart McDonald’s franchise will be converted to another fast food outlet in the future—possibly a Subway restaurant.

SmartCentres is Canada’s largest developer and operator of unenclosed shopping centres. SmartCentres is committed to bringing value to Canadian communities through the efficiencies of unenclosed shopping centre formats, each adapted to the market in which it is located. The company is currently managing and developing over 200 SmartCentres.

The centres are located in communities, large and small, from Cornerbrook to Laval to Rockland to Surrey.

La Vie en Rose is now open at Cranbrook’s SmartCentre.
